His culinary journey is one of intellectual passion and hands-on dedication, beginning with a unique academic background in Government with a focus on Middle Eastern studies, which later blossomed into a formal culinary education in the region's cuisine. Daniel's early career was forged in the demanding environment of New York's two-Michelin-starred The Modern, where he gained a foundational understanding of culinary excellence. Relocating to Philadelphia, he immersed himself in new traditions, from his wife's Russian heritage to the refined techniques of the city's most prominent establishments, including Vetri Cucina, Bistro La Minette, and Wilder.
This diverse experience led him to the Garces organization, where he quickly ascended from Chef Garces' culinary assistant to culinary operations manager, and finally to his current role as Culinary Director. Entrusted by a pioneering figure in Latin cuisine, Daniel is dedicated to obsessive exploration and elevating culinary traditions, viewing food not just as sustenance, but as a rich tapestry of history, tradition, and human connection. His career is a testament to the belief that understanding a culture begins at its table.
